![]() ![]() I don't at all care about the timeline viewer resolution. Actually, the result has become somehow better, say "acceptable to the client's perception", but still not what I intended to achieve.įor my current project, I decided to shoot everything in 4K UHD 29.97 fps, after reading the reference manual a few times. A friend of mine gave me a hint: for a clip in the timeline which is to be zoomed in, first, apply a Super Scale 2x resize (upscale) to it (so it is superscaled to the UHD resolution) and only then make a zoom on the superscaled result. ![]() I found zooming up to 2x bringing out inferior quality (obviously). Yes it was a mix of my photography mistake and actual conditions on set, but this is the story of another day. But in my 3rd project, it happened so that I was in desperate need of one single blow-up. Look, I moved to DaVinci only recently and did my first 3 projects with FHD footage and FHD timeline, all 1920*1080 ok so far. You'll actually get better downscaling when the Timeline Resolution is set to the camera source files' original resolution, particularly in blow-ups.Dear Marc,ĭespite I tend to trust your wisdom just taking it by your word, this thread puzzled me.
